Welcome!
Venturi dramatically improves the way data is transmitted over wireless networks and delivers the fastest mobile Internet access available today. In short, we speed up your mobile internet connection!
This guide will help you configure your client and answer frequently asked questions.
Changing Your Performance Settings
Venturi offers four performance settings that correspond to the rate at which wireless data is transmitted over the network. To change your performance settings, simply click one of the four levels in your pop-up menu and continue browsing the Internet as usual.
Highest Speed: This level delivers the highest data access rates available by dramatically reducing the amount of data being transmitted.
Client Default: This level delivers data at high speeds while minimally sacrificing image quality. This is Venturi's typical default setting.
Good Image Quality: This level delivers good image quality with fast data transmission speeds.
Best Image: This level delivers the best image quality with above average data transmission speeds.
If you are using Venturi while traveling/roaming, the Venturi 0ptimization engine may not be accessible from the network you are using. In this case, Venturi falls into bypass mode (indicated by the gray V in your system tray). When Venturi is in bypass mode, you can browse Web pages without Venturi optimization running.
Venturi may remain in bypass mode for other more rare reasons, such as the server being down or a temporary network issue making it unreachable. In any of the above cases, Venturi automatically resumes using the Venturi optimization engine as soon as it's reachable.
Can I view the original quality of an image?
Yes. To view an image on a Web page in its original quality without using Venturi optimization, do the following:
Internet Explorer browser: From the Venturi pop-up menu, select Turn Venturi OFF. Press the Ctrl + F5 keys. This clears the cache and refreshes images to their original quality.
Mozilla Firefox browser: From the Venturi pop-up menu, select Turn Venturi OFF. Clear the cache manually and then press Reload.
Can I use Venturi with my Virtual Private Network (VPN)?
Venturi works in conjunction with a Venturi optimization engine that is located within your service provider's network. If you use a corporate VPN in non-split tunnel mode (default gateway set to VPN), traffic is tunneled through the Internet into your corporate network and bypasses the Venturi optimization engine located within your service provider's network. This causes Venturi to enter bypass mode, as well. If you use a corporate VPN in split tunnel mode, corporate network traffic will not be optimized while Internet traffic will be optimized. Please contact your service provider or administrator if your corporate network uses non-standard private IP address ranges.
Why don't my images improve after I've selected "best image" performance?
If you've changed your performance settings but you are not achieving the image quality you want, try clearing your cache as follows:
Note: Since we support the majority of available browsers, you may follow similar steps for other browsers.
